MORE ABOUT THE EVENT
This fun gathering is a spoof on a 5K run; it is a .5K stroll or car ride along Cherokee Street between local businesses in the city of Leavenworth, Kansas. It is a fundraiser to help reopen Alliance Against Family Violence (AAFV), which is the Leavenworth County area's first and only sexual and domestic violence, victim advocacy services organization.

ABOUT AAFV
AAFV closed in November 2017, and AAFV's Board of Directors is fundraising to reopen doors to keep the doors open permanently for all Leavenworth County community members. The initial fundraising goal is about $100,000, and with these donations, AAFV will be able to reopen, hire staff, pay operations bills, access reimbursement grants funding, and begin providing direct, client services again to those in need in Leavenworth County communities.

Sexual and domestic violence impacts Everyone - no matter sex, gender, race, socioeconomic status, or geographic location. Last year, AAFV served 500 people just in the one year of 2017 alone.
